We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving with family and friends. We have so many reasons to be thankful. We would like to thank everyone who helped us surpass our goal for Pennies for Patients. We are sure the children who benefit from this money are very grateful.
In November we tasted different apples and made a graph of our favorite. We had fun crunching, stomping, and jumping in leaves. A pirate visited, and we went on a treasure hunt for our Bahamas celebration. We enjoyed our corny day and our lunch at McDonald’s. We learned about Thanksgiving and Native American Indians. We particularly enjoyed our “Thanksgiving” Feast.
December will be a busy, fun-filled month. During the first 2 weeks we are going to be celebrating Christmas. The first week we will discuss various Christmas traditions-presents, trees, stockings, candles, and wreaths. The second week we will talk about the real reason we celebrate Christmas by talking about Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, angels, shepherds, and the wise men. As we conclude the old year and welcome the new year we will learn about the opposites in and out, and old and new. We will then make hats and noisemakers and have a Countdown and Drop to welcome the New Year.
The Children’s Christmas program will be Friday, December 9, at 6:00 in Fellowship Hall. We have been practicing our songs for months. We hope to see you there.
Wednesday, December 21 is our Christmas party! We will be having visits from Super Reader, a musician, and Santa! We will also have a gift exchange. If your child wishes to participate, we are asking that YOU AND YOUR CHILD MAKE SOMETHING that could be given to another child. If you have any questions, please ask us.
We are collecting items for Safe Harbor in Carlisle. A list of items needed is in front of your child’s mailbox. Please help us with this worthy cause. We will personally deliver the items on Dec. 23rd.
Remember, we will be closed December 26 and 27.
